ABOUT BRANDI  I lost my mom when I was ten.  I don't say that for sympathy. I say it because it's the reason I'm a photographer.  I grew up with very few photos of her. A handful of snapshots. Nothing that felt like her — the way she laughed, the way she looked at me, the particular light of an ordinary Tuesday. Those images don't exist, and there's no getting them back.  That absence is what I think about every time I pick up a camera.  ———  I'm Brandi. I photograph children and families throughout Bradenton, Parrish, Anna Maria Island, and the surrounding Gulf Coast — on the beach at golden hour, and at my five-acre property in Parrish, where live oaks draped in Spanish moss meet weathered wood fencing and a west-facing pasture built for the kind of light that makes everything feel slower.  I've been doing this long enough to know the sessions families treasure most are never the stiff ones. They're the ones where the toddler ran in the wrong direction, and everyone laughed. Where the big kid who swore she hated photos forgot to be self-conscious for a minute. Where the mom actually got in the frame.  I'm also a mom of three, including kids who are neurodivergent. I know how to slow down, read the room, and find the real moment inside the chaos. Not every child arrives camera-ready, and that's completely fine. I'm not looking for perfection. I'm looking for real.  My sessions are guided but relaxed. I'll handle wardrobe direction, location, and gentle nudging. You just show up. I'll take care of the rest.  What I'm after, every single time, is an image that lets you feel your people again twenty years from now.  That's the whole thing
