Where NOT to go for a photosession

There are so many spots in each town to do photo sessions. I already shared some of my favorite places in another blog post but now I want to share where NOT to do a photo session. 

This is one of the reasons it is important to pick a professional photographer with knowledge of the area and requirements. Some places require a fee as well as to put a copy of the photographer's lability insurance on file. A professional will know all of this prior to your session and have all paperwork taken care of. 

Places to avoid: 

Private property without permission. Can you imagine having the cops called on you during a session and being kicked off the property? Or worse-watching your photographer get arrested??  Yikes on bikes! 

Railroad tracks. Even if they are decommissioned, they are still owned by the Federal Government. They don't play about trespassing and will fine photographers tens of thousands of dollars. If the tracks are live-it is incredibly dangerous. It is best to avoid all train tracks. If you have to have a picture with trains or tracks, reach out to a museum and see if they can help. Parrish has a wonderful train museum that may be able to help make those locomotion dreams come true. 

Any place where a permit is needed and not having the proper paperwork. Again, this goes back to hiring a professional versus a hobbyist. It typically takes about two weeks for a permit to be granted but there is no work on your end. The photographer you hire takes care of all of that for you.
